Linda Bruno, Marketing Associate
Ms. Bruno has four decades of experience in the luxury, independent segment of the hospitality industry. She began her career in sales and marketing at The Drake Hotel in Chicago, then on to San Francisco with Fairmont Hotels, followed by opening The Donatello Hotel, a boutique hotel affiliated with Ciga Hotels of Italy. In 1984, she launched her international, strategic marketing firm dedicated to pre-opening and positioning of boutique hotels, resorts, spas and villas.
Ms. Bruno launched Meadowood Resort-Napa Valley, Post Ranch Inn-Big Sur and Inn Above Tide and Cavallo Point-Sausalito, for five years she handled marketing for Sundance, the Utah community developed by Robert Redford, wherein she honed her skill set on a diverse rental program of condominiums and mountain homes. Other domestic projects include The Hotel Jerome and Aspen Institute-Aspen, Miraval Spa in Tucson and the repositioning of The Hermosa Inn in Paradise Valley.
California projects included consultation with Silverado-Napa Valley, Squaw Valley Inn-Lake Tahoe, Bacara Resort & Spa, the legendary San Ysidro Ranch and El Capitan Canyon, nature lodging on the coast, all in Santa Barbara. In Chicago, she did consulting for the development of The Elysian Hotel & Residences, now a Waldorf Astoria property. A recent project was the restoration of a US Army officers quarters in San Francisco’s Presidio – The Inn at the Presidio.
As for Oregon, Ms. Bruno consulted on Portland projects; The Heathman Hotel, Avalon Hotel, The Governor and successfully launched the state’s first luxury destination resort in Willamette Valley wine region, Allison Inn & Spa.
Her international expertise began with the launch of Jean Michel Cousteau Fiji Island Resort in the South Pacific (sister property to Post Ranch Inn), whereby her marketing work expanded to Australia and New Zealand.
Ms. Bruno relocated to Greenwich, CT. in 1997 to expand international services into Europe. Her east coast address made it more convenient to work on Caribbean projects such as Guanahani on St. Barts and The Cotton House on the privately owned island of Mustique. Starting in 1999 and for eleven years, she had responsible for the marketing and positioning of Mustique as well as their luxury villa collection in ten countries. Her responsibilities included managing their brand image relative to their website, collateral materials, a 170 page villa brochure and seven offices in various countries with respect to public relations, private label reservations, sales, graphic design, etc.
Ms. Bruno is recognized as a leader in the hotel, resort and mixed-use development industry and a member of the prestigious International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) encompassing over 200 members in 20 countries. Additionally, she has spoken at many domestic investment and travel conferences as well as in the Caribbean and Europe. She continually writes articles for the industry trades, is quoted in lifestyle magazines and business journal and is on the Board of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Institute of Wine & Food.
