Following a family tradition and more than 15 years of industry experience, Michael joined Waterford Hotels and Inns in 2005. His experience with both large and boutique hotels provided him extensive operational and management experience. At Waterford, Michael specializes in project management, oversight of green hotels and eco resorts, food and beverage, rooms operation, and social media.Michael has in-depth knowledge of the rapidly expanding field of Social Media in relation to hospitality marketing, and has become a leader in this area. His goal is to help our clients develop an “ethical” brand that will secure their niche within the hotel market. In 1995, Michael officially began his hotel career in room service at the Parc 55 hotel in San Francisco. In college he worked for the Historic Hotel Boulderado in Boulder, Colorado. After graduation he joined the Wilshire Grand Hotel in Los Angeles, where he played a key role in opening and managing the hotel’s restaurant, nightclub and lounge.

Michael then moved into broader management roles from 2002 – 2004 for the (now) Portola Hotel & Spa and the Carmel Mission Inn, working closely with customers and managing several large teams. This management experience enabled him to move into a Project Manager role for Passport Resorts Fort Baker LLC and the development of the historic and eco-designed Cavallo Point, The Lodge at the Golden Gate. From 2005 to 2008 Michael, helped facilitate the design, construction, interiors, and overall operations for the project. Michael’s expertise in project management was most recently used during the development and construction of the Inn at the Presidio. Michael received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1998.
